Restructuring a technology company
Vialtus Solutions was restructuring its workforce and operations as a result of a change of ownership from GX Networks Limited to Daisy Plc. Margaret provided the Human Resources support for the restructuring project. She assisted with the planning and briefings for our line managers, arranged the elections for the Consultative Committee, trained the elected representatives and organised ongoing meetings during the 30-day consultation process to ensure that we, as a company, met our obligations under these procedures.
I found Margaret to be very professional and supportive in her dealings with the management team and employees alike. She is very flexible in her approach and made herself available to be on site when required or by telephone. I have no hesitation in recommending Margaret as a Human Resources professional and if I required these services again I would contact Margaret immediately.

Reviewing HR documents and procedures
Margaret developed the Company Handbook for Hot Office Business Centres Ltd. We have been absolutely delighted with all the preparation work and the thoroughly professional document she has produced. I have been particularly impressed by your practical approach to a very technical subject, resulting in a document that is readable and accessible to all members of the team.
Having Margaret’s company visibly involved in the staff management process has been highly beneficial; I certainly feel confident that any action I take in the day to- day running of my team is correct and fair; plus I find that the employees, being aware of your involvement, give credence to any action I take. I have learned a great deal from you, in particular that the rules are much less one-sided than I had imagined and that companies are protected as much as individuals when it comes to the resolution of any issues, providing the correct process is followed.
We had an ongoing staffing issue and I was delighted with the way you handled it. In addition, your assistance with a contractor/maternity situation led to a smooth resolution that satisfied all parties. I sincerely hope and expect that you will be involved in the development of our HR processes and any issues that crop up from time-to-time. Thank you again for all your work. I would be delighted to recommend your services.

Day-to-day HR Issues
Margaret provided HR consultancy services to the BNI National Office to help resolve a number of HR issues. During the time that you have been working with us, you have already helped us to deal with disciplinary and redundancy issues. With so many potential suppliers to choose from, BNI is able to pick the highest quality suppliers for any particular service. Therefore, we were delighted to use your services to help us to deal with all of our personnel issues.
In the past, we have received advice from other HR professionals, but the support and advice that you have provided has far surpassed our expectations. Your advice has helped to reduce the level of stress and worry when some difficult decisions have been made. You have always explained all of the options that the company can choose between and explained what the possible outcomes might be. Your clear explanations have meant that a new process for us – the changing of working hours of staff and possible redundancy – has gone very smoothly. Even members of staff that have been affected have commented on how well the process has been handled and this is entirely down to your advice.
You have also ensured that our disciplinary procedures have been brought up to date to avoid any future issues that may have led to expensive employment tribunals. One of my senior management team said, “She’s absolutely brilliant – after 20 years in the recruitment industry, I thought I understood how HR issues should work, but Margaret has given advice that is not only clear and concise, but also focuses on what is in the best interests of our business.” We would have no hesitation in recommending you to any business looking for help in sorting out their Human Resource issues. Thank you again for your help and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Focus Business Services trading as Ridemaster
Having been in business for a relatively short period, I realised that I had not focused on employment contracts and employment law in the initial stages of setting up my business, often a classic mistake! As I took on more staff, I made the conscious decision to find a consultant who would be able to make sure my company was compliant in this area.
I was referred to Margaret Keane by a firm using her services. I was looking for someone to deal with employment contracts, assist with staff reviews and to be available to provide ongoing advice.
We have now worked together for over three years and during that period I have referred your service to a number of friends and business colleagues, because the service that you provide is exactly what we require, professional and always contactable which allows me to concentrate on my business.
We worked closely over a period on a particular issue I had within the company; Margaret guided me through this stressful period and, as with most services, you only really know how good the level of service is and how good the advice is, when you really need it!
I will continue to recommend your service whenever I can. Thank you.

Six Degrees Group
Margaret worked as a consultant to Six Degrees Group between July and November 2011, advising on the HR harmonisation and integration aspects of five corporate acquisitions undertaken by the group and dealing with HR issues arising from due diligence exercises. She also worked as consultant to the current Six Degrees management in their previous role as the management of SpiriTel plc, principally on consultation processes with employee groups following four corporate acquisitions.
We have found Margaret to be highly professional, well informed on employment law and current HR custom and practice and a valuable source of HR-related advice. She interacts effectively with all levels of staff, has a polite, courteous and friendly manner and is a pleasure to work with. In addition, she is able to give a commercial and pragmatic view of the consequences of HR-related issues.
We would be happy to work with Margaret again should a suitable new project arise.
